July 8th

Well it is a new day. Nights are not that fun because they make me get up every two hours to go to the bathroom. That is so they know I'm getting rid of the chemo. I don't eat that much during the day but about 9:00 at night I'm ready for cereal. Last night I had four bowls before dad told me I needed to eat something else. Today they brought the sacrament to my room and then I had a short primary lesson. After the lesson I got up to get dressed and my nose started to bleed. That was just over an hour ago and it won't stop. They are supposed to give me some platelets so hopefully it will help. I was a little down today but then I received a wonderful gift basket from the Wunderlich's and the Olsen's. There were so many things inside I could not decide what I wanted to do first. We are working on putting some more pictures on the site. Thank you to everyone and love you.

Dear Duval Family,
Jeff & Tiffany; Dawn Jankowski forwarded to me the news of your son Trent. I just wanted you to know I will also pray, fast and put Trent's name in the Temple. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. If there is anything I could do to help. Please let me know! Take Care.

Trent,
Hi! We just got home from church and I begged my mom to get on the computer and write to you about church. We learned about Ammon and King Lamoni. We also made some cool stuff for you, but it's a secret- so you won't know until you get it! My mom also told me that in a few more weeks your family is moving on the street right behind me! SWEET! Then my mom said I could ride my bike over to your house to say hi when you feel better! Guess what? My dog is going to have babies in two weeks- I am excited, but my mom says I have to help take care of them. I will take pictures of them and send them to you. I am sorry the medicine is making you feel sick- I hope you start to feel better soon.
From,
Connor Glassey

Trent -
That's cool that you got to have church right in your room! Plus you didn't even have to sit through three hours of it like the rest of us : ).

I'm going to call your mommy in a little bit and see when we can have people come up and hang out with you so that she can go check on your brothers. LOTS of people at church really want to come see you so that you can show off your awesome Mario Kart skills.

Hang in there~

Trent,

I love you. You should get better.

From Josheeman

To Trent,

I got a new helicopter transformer. Guess what, my dad doesn't know how to transform it but I do. My dad worked on the fence and almost broke his back it was so hot. My sleepover was fun. I did an obstacle course, and we slept in a tent in the yard. When you get better we can have a sleepover or go camping.

Hey Knock Knock

Dwane,

Dwane the tub I'm drowning.

Hah, Hah, just wanted to cheer you up.

From Russell

Conner,

I am glad you had fun at church. I also had someone come into my room and give me a lesson about praying to Heavenly Father it was short but fun! Thanks for making me cool stuff! I'm excited to move and come play with you it will be awesome. Are you going to keep your dogs puppies? If you get to keep them you are lucky, my mom will only let me have 1 dog. I'm excited to see your dogs, I love dogs they are fun! What track are you on? Do you have any fun trips planned this summer? Well talk to you soon.

Russell and Joshee man,

Hey guys. I am glad your sleepover was fun. My mom laughed when you said your Dad could not transform the transformer (she is just glad she is not the only one who has issues with them). Did your Dad get the fence up yet? What fun things are you doing this week? WELL better go write soon!

Hi Trent. Hope things are calming down a bit for you. I might have some good suggestions for you to make life a bit easier. These are things that would have helped me when I had my son Harrison in the hospital for leukemia only 1 year ago. First, you are the boss. If you want visitors, you say yes or no. You don't have to see people if you feel yucky. Second, if they change your bandage make them use the orange tape remover stuff. It disolves the glue and as long as your skin is cleaned off don't worry about it irritating your skin. Nurse Joan (I don't know if she is your nurse) told us she hates it and bla bla bla but we used it and it saved my boy trouble. A soapy rag will clean it up. Also, try to watch tv while your getting your dressing changed. Soon your mom will be a pro and it will be no big deal.

About the medicine. That will be no problem after a while. Harrison just turned 5 and he can take down 11 pills at a time. We make it a game to see if we can beat the record. Within a few weeks, once again, your mom will be a pro at what you need and when.

About peeing all night, well, there's nothing easy about it. Be sure to wash your hands so the mean nurses don't get grumpy.

Up there in ICS there are tons of binders full of movies and lots of video games.

I know that sometimes the chemo makes your food taste different and sometimes gross but try different things on the menu. They will send you whatever you want to eat and don't worry about wasting because by the time you are out of the hospital your mom and dad will have paid them enough money to build another floor on top of the hospital.Ha Ha Ha. I called the nurse and had her take a message with my phone number on it incase you wanted to talk to Britain or incase your mom had some questions for me since we've been where you are. It's okay to be mad about all this. I know you were grumpy when you woke up but your mom understands and the really nice thing about parents is that no matter how grumpy you are, they still love you.

NOTE FOR YOUR MOM: Don't worry about all the bandages and medicines, they will right it down for you and soon it will be as routine as brushing your teeth.

From,

Britain Bashore and his mom, Emilie

Hi Trent!

How are you feeling today? We have been thinking about you a lot lately and are trying to plan a trip to come see you within the next couple of weeks. We have to wait and see how Zach's baseball team does in the play-offs before we can schedule our trip. They have their first game tomorrow night; don't tell Zach but I hope they lose so we don't have to wait to come see you.
I have read that you like Transformers and Pokemon; what else do you like to play with? I'm sure that Zach would love to challenge you to a game or two on the Game Cube so you better practice a lot so you can beat him! Do you think that you could talk Zach into shaving his head too? He has grown his hair out and is starting to look like the Shaggy Dog. :) Do you get to watch any movies in the hospital?
Well, I better get back to work. I will let you know when we are able to come.

Jeff & Tiff - I know we are hundreds of miles away so I can not offer to clean or cook (I can send you my specialty…cereal) but please let us know if there is anything that we can do.

Emilie,

Thanks for taking the time to write! Nurse Joan was our nurse on Sunday she is a character. She is set in her ways and does not like to change, but she is funny and had us all laughing. I really don't eat a lot but when I do I stick to my favorite food Cereal and chocolate milk!!!! Did Harrison get sick and throw up with chemo? The pills are ok I can down a lot of them. My brother Brad would have a hard time, Mom has to crush his pills to get him to take them. My Mom agrees with you about making another floor to the hospital I was in the recovery room after my central line and the nurse said it is $30.00 every min to be in the recovery room. My mom's jaw dropped down to my bed! Thank goodness for Insurance she says! I am getting better about being mad I don't understand why I have Leukemia but we are getting into a routine and making it work! I just wish after I am better I can go to the nurses homes and wake them up every 2 hours to see how they like it!!!! My mom says she will call you soon. She is just trying to figure everything out, and trying to not cry her head off every time she talks to some one. Thanks for the advice keep it coming. Tell Britain hi for me. Is he doing anything fun this Summer?

Love Trent

Aunt Michelle,

Thanks for writing. I hope for Zach he wins but hope for me he loses so you can come visit sooner! But like you said don't tell Zach. Tell Zach what my mom tell's everyone that she cuts to short "Hair will grow out just give it time". How is the new house do you love it? Are you all moved in yet?
