July 6th
Well today has been a day of learning. We have been flooded with information about the drugs we're getting, when we get them, and what they will do. Today they had to change the dressing on my central line and it was not fun. The tape hurt coming off and it really hurt when they cleaned around the incision and I cried for about twenty minutes. We have started chemo and it will probably be tomorrow before we know how sick the chemo will make me. I will also start losing my hair in about two weeks. My family is having a big head shaving party on July 24th but my dad is going to shave his head sooner. Thanks for all the messages. Love, Trent

How's things going? Hopefully the chemo is going well. I had a neighbor bring me some books on Leukemia. In one of the books it calls chemo the Kemo-Shark. The shark goes inside a person's body and kills the cancer. Maybe if you think of it as a shark and it taking away all those nasty cells it may make things a little easier. I can't wait to see your Dad bald, let alone Grandpa. That is going to be a lot of fun I think. We will tape it for you so you will see how silly your Uncles can be. I am afraid for Mike to shave his head, there is so little he may never grow any back!! That would be crazy. Keep your chin up buddy, we are saying extra prayers for you tonight!!

I hope that you are doing OK today. I took Brad and the rest of Cub Scouts up to camp today. They all got really DIRTY! Brad got to shoot the BB gun and learned how to tie some knots. He had a good time and laughed a lot. He wished that you could go too. I will miss seeing your smiling face sitting in the back row of Primary. I am thinking about you all the time and I know that Heavenly Father is watching out for you.

Thanks for emailing me back. Greg and I don't really have any vacations planned for this summer. We have a family reunion this next week with Greg's family and then the Cazier reunion on the 21st. We will just stay home and play for another month before Kylie and Brooke start school again. Trent, do you have a favorite picture that Uncle Greg has painted that you might like up in your room? Let me know of a few of your favorites and we'll see what we can do okay? Also let me know if you can hang them on the wall. I don't know if a framed print or an unframed print would be best. Let me know that too okay? Everyday we think about you and discuss what is going on with you each day. Thank you for keeping all of us informed through this website. It is a good way to feel connected to you. I hope you can feel how much everyone loves you and your family. You have lots of friends and family who care a lot about you and would do anything for you and your family. Guess what? You also have a lot of family up in heaven, Grandma Cazier I know is aware of you and your mom and dad. I am certain she too is watching over you all during this time, along with many others!

How are you? I hope the chemo is going well. We think of you constantly and pray for you and your family. We love you guys and are so sorry for everything you have had to go through. You will get through this. You are both so strong. Tiff have you had a chance to look at a schedule yet of when you would like to have people sit with Trent? I am also excited to see everyone bald some people will have funny heads I think! Mom thinks dad will look funny Dad just laughs. I would love to read that book you said you got Mom is going to sign me up on a web site that will send some books to Brad and Nate so they will understand what is going on. How is Spencer doing? I am Dr. Trent and I perform surgery on my patient (which is a doll that people make to give to patients so we can understand the procedures)I named by patient Nate and I stick him with IV and tape him and give him pretend fluids. I have a blast doing it! The nurses are very nice I met one her name is Leslie Allard and she knows are cousin Emily they worked up at Oakcrest together she is very nice. Hope everyone is having a fun summer. Let me know what you are doing. Love you so much

Trent, I have days when I don't want the blinds open too. Thats o.k. just remember it's hard at first ,but the Sun will give you light and can remind you of Jesus. He has given us so much and will give you so much more. Enjoy the trees and flowers ,besides your mom needs some sun or she'll get all white and scare the nurses. love ya bud. I can't tell if I'm getting sick or if my chest is just heavy from all the smoke over the last week. I might not be able to come see you until after I get back from Girls camp. but you can call me anytime. I saw your Dad last night and your brothers they are doing very well. you are very lucky!

Thank you for writing I love getting messages! Some make me cry and some make me laugh. Thank you for offering one of Greg's pictures I like the one where the kids are in the trees playing, or the one where Jesus is surrounded by kids. Which ever one you have is fine I only have room for one so suprise me! I asked the nurse if we could hang a framed picture in my room and she said no so I will have to tape it to the wall or find another idea of how to put it up. Mom and the nurse Leslie Allard were talking about the picture and mom told her my Uncle is Greg Olson. Leslie the nurse said she had a friend who's uncle is Greg Olsen. Mom asked her name and Leslie said it was Emily Burgess. It was so funny she was the director up at Oakcrest and Emily was the assistant director. She talked very highly of Emily and misses her. Where in Idaho is your famly reunion taking place? Is it for the whole week or just a few days? Do you and the girls go four wheeling or just Uncle Greg and Nate? I love four wheeling and am sad I am not going to be able to ride this year. But I can't wait till next summer we will have fun!! Did the girls get summer passes to Seven Peaks this year? We are Lizard hunting buddies! I don't think the nurses would think it very funny if you brought me a lizard although it would be funny to scare them with one! If you find one maybe you could take a picture and send it to me! How is your summer going? Do you have any fun vacations? Is baseball over? I was so excited to play soccer this fall but it will have to wait till spring! It was fun to see you at Foothill's elem. performing. How are you? The picture my Dad took of us on the bed is so fun! I would love to keep writing to you. I will just write to you on the blog if that is ok so just keep checking on it. What did you do the rest of the week? Me I just hung out in my bedroom-kitchen-family room - dining room. I'm trying to keep my sense of humor up. We have a rule at home no burping or farting at the table. So when I burp at the hospital my Mom says "Trent no burping at the table!" I laugh and tell her "It's not the table it's the bed table!" She just roll's her eyes. how are the Dove's doing? Are you taking them to many weddings? Are the Chickens ok? Has Nelea killed a lot more of their eggs? Write soon.
