November 8th : day -9 in process

Well I made it through the day but it was not that fun. It started early because we had to check-in to the hospital first. They then drove us to the Huntsman Cancer Institute for the radiation treatment. It took about an hour in a half because they had to fit the lung shields they had made before we could start treatment. I then had to stand still while the machine sent the radiation into me. I had to stand for fifteen minutes while they did the front of my body and another fifteen minutes while they did the back of my body. I was tired after it was finished and nauseated. I slept for several hours this afternoon and they threw up several times tonight. Five more days of radiation to go. November 17th will be my "bone marrow birthday." I was happy when I found out I will now have two birthdays. The donor will be harvested on November 16th and I will get it on November 17th. Thanks for all the prayers. Love, Trent.

Lucky you - now you'll get birthday cake twice a year : )! Good luck in the next few days. Stay strong. It's not going to be easy, but it's worth it. We pray for you every day.

Dear Trent,

My baby sister is due on March 31st. My birthday is March 5th so we'll both have March birthdays. I think it's so cool that you're going to have two birthdays now!

I've been off track for 3 weeks so I'm just getting ready to go back on Monday.

My brother was Harry Potter for Halloween too. I wanted to be Hermione but when we looked for the costume we couldn't find one my size. That's why I decided to be a witch.

You're lucky you got to put up your Christmas tree. I wish my mom would put ours up. I keep asking her about it but she says not yet. I like to lay under the Christmas tree when there's no presents under it and look at the lights. Sometimes I fall asleep under there...for real!

I'm going to ask my mom if we can get some M&M's to drop off at your house. Good luck with your transplant. I'll keep praying for you.

So that's all for now!

Your friend,

Catie Grant

Trent,
Two birthdays? Does that mean you will age twice as fast now and in awhile be older than your parents? Vary cool. Hey good luck this next week till your transplant, you be strong for your mom and dad ok? We are praying for you and hope all goes well. We have something for you from your soccor team, I thought you were still home, so we will have to see if we can get it to you later at the hospital or to your mom maybe. Well hang in there, we love you!

Trent,

You really have 3 birthdays if you count your real birthday, your transplant day and your "un-birthday!" Good luck with the treatments and the transplant. We're still thinking about you and praying for you and your family here in WA. Hang in there! I can tell you are one tough and strong kid!

Catie,

That is so fun 2 birthdays in March. Are you excited to go back on track? That's cool your brother was Harry Potter, I'm sorry you could not find a Hermione costume in your size, but I bet your witch costume was cool. Did you get a lot of candy? This is the first year my dad did not complain when my mom asked him to put it up. Do you fall asleep a lot under the tree. I can't believe you are able to put presents under the tree. We don't put presents under the tree cuz my brothers me and my mom would probably open them. I love Christmas, do you? What do you want this year? How was the end of soccer this fall? Is your dad still coaching you? Well talk to you later.
